Suggest merging back into Sportsground article[edit]

The Greyhound track and rugby ground share the same facilities, they just use different names. This article suggests that there are two separate stadia. Kieranfp (talk) 22:32, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Article merge suggestion[edit]

If the articles were to be merged then a discusssion would need to be created as to the article name and particularly the lead section. As you can see by recent edits on the Sportsground, the rugby editors clearly regard the article as a rugby venue and that is creating an article bias. A seperate article was created because the greyhound operation (since 1932) has always been known as the Galway Greyhound Stadium and has never been known as the Dexcom Stadium or the Sportsground and the two entities have very distinct different operations and significant historial differences. Prior to the latest series of updates to the original article by Connacht Rugby staff, the Sportsground article covered both uses quite well. I would suggest reverting to something similar to that. This article could be converted to a topic article, something like "Greyhound Racing in Galway". Kieranfp (talk) 19:55, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
